This PRIVACY NOTICE FOR CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS supplements the information contained in the Privacy Policy of CSC ServiceWorks and its subsidiaries (collectively, “we,” “us,” or “our”) and applies solely to visitors, users, and others who reside in the State of California (“consumers” or “you”).   • Consumers or users of laundry and air vending products, services, websites, software, or mobile applications (“Laundry and Air Consumers”);
  • Consumers or users of appliance leasing products, services, websites, software, or mobile applications (“Appliance Leasing Consumers”)

For example, we collect limited information for Laundry and Air Consumers: 

  • Category A – real name, alias, unique personal identifier, online identifier, Internet Protocol address, email address, account name, or other similar identifiers.
  • Category B – name, telephone number.
  • Category C – not collected for Laundry and Air Consumers.
  • Category D – only records of commercial activity using our Services
  • Category E – not collected.
  • Category F – records of activity using our Services
  • Category G – as required for Service features and functions, such as Service location discovery and connection
  • Category H – for example, consumer-approved recordings of Support Calls for training purposes
  • Category I – not collected.
  • Category J – for example, student identification may be used for the purposes of transactions
  • Category K – for example, inferences about preferences that may be shared by consumers that share a Service location

We obtain the categories of personal information listed above in the following manner:

  • Directly from you or your agent(s). For example, from documents, digital form submissions, and live conversations with information that you provide to us related to the services for which you engage us.
  • Indirectly from you or your agent(s). For example, through information we collect from your usage of our products and services in the course of providing them to you.
  • Directly and indirectly from activity on our websites or mobile applications. For example, from digital form submissions, purchases, and other usage details collected automatically.

  • We may retain Personal Information for research purposes, which may include the development of proprietary or open source algorithms, applications, programs, or tools that analyze nonpersonal and Personal Information, assist with market research, or perform consumer modeling, among other functions.
  • We may use GPS information, other Personal Information collected, and nonpersonal information acquired from third parties to infer other Personal Information about you, including your income, the advertising ID of your mobile device, and the location of your home, work, and school. 
  • We use your IP address to diagnose problems with our server, report aggregate information, determine the fastest route for your device to use in connecting to our Services, and administer and improve the Services. 
  • We may use information collected by cookies to retrieve certain information you have previously provided, to help to determine what areas of our website or Services you and other visitors find most valuable, to customize our Services based on your preferences, to tell our servers information such as your IP address and your browser type, to improve navigation and usability on our Services, to indicate how many times a page is opened and what information is consulted, to improve the content of our websites and Services, to communicate information to visitors, to make our Services more pleasant, to administer our Services, and to track users’ movements around our website and Services. 
  • We may de-identify Personal Information and store and use the de-identified information. 

Some browsers have “do not track” features that allow you to tell a website not to track you. These features are not all uniform. We do not currently respond to those signals. Instead, we collect, use, and share information as described in this Privacy Notice regardless of a “do not track” choice.

How We Store and Protect Your Personal Information

We will only retain personal information as long as necessary for the fulfillment of the Purposes defined, unless we are otherwise obligated to retain it. We will release account and other personal information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law; is required by law enforcement officials; to enforce or apply our Terms of Use and other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of CSC ServiceWorks, our consumers, customers, or others. 

Unless noted otherwise in this Privacy Notice, we store and process all electronic Personal Information that we collect from you on electronic information systems in the United States. Some nonpersonal information may remain on data storage systems in the country or territory where the information was originally provided. Hard copies of personal information generally remain in the country of origin.

  1. Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties

We disclose personal information that we collect, or that you provide to us as described in this Privacy Notice:

  • To fulfill the purpose for which you provide it. For example, if you give us an email address to use the “email a friend” feature of our Services, we will transmit the contents of that email and your email address to the recipient you specify.
  • We may also disclose your personal information to comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request.
  • We may disclose your personal information to a third party for a business purpose.  When we disclose personal information for a business purpose, we enter a contract that describes the purpose and requires the recipient to both keep that personal information confidential and not use it for any purpose except performing the contract.   1. Your Rights and Choices

The CCPA provides Consumers with specific rights regarding their personal information. This section describes your CCPA rights and explains how to exercise those rights.

Access to Specific Information, Data Portability Rights & Deletion Requests

You have the right to request that we disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of your personal information over the past 12 months. Once we receive and confirm your request using a two-step verification process, we will disclose to you:

  • The categories of personal information we collected about you.
  • The categories of sources for the personal information we collected about you.
  • Our business or commercial purpose for collecting that personal information.
  • The categories of third parties with whom we share that personal information.
  • The specific pieces of personal information we collected about you.
  • If we disclosed your personal information for a business purpose, the personal information categories that each category of recipient obtained.

You also have the right to request that we delete any of your personal information that we collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions. Once we receive and confirm your request using a two-step verification process, we will delete (and direct our service providers to delete) your personal information from our records, unless an exception applies.

Only you, or a person registered with the California Secretary of State that you authorize to act on your behalf (your “agent”), may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information. You may also make a verifiable consumer request on behalf of your minor child.  You may only make a verifiable consumer request for access or data portability twice within a 12-month period. The verifiable consumer request must:

  • Provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom we collected personal information or an authorized representative (agent) of that person.  This information will include your name, address, email and other information that you may have previously provided to us.
  • Describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it.

We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the personal information relates to you.  We will only use personal information provided in a verifiable consumer request to verify the requestor’s identity or authority to make the request.

  1. Our Response to Your Request

We endeavor to respond to a verifiable consumer request within forty-five (45) days of its receipt. If a request is not sufficient, we will advise how to fulfill requirements for a verifiable request. If we require more time (up to an additional 45 days), we will inform you of that fact. If you have an account with us, we will deliver our written response to that account. If you do not have an account with us, we will deliver our written response by mail or electronically, at your option.

We do not charge a fee to process or respond to your verifiable consumer request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded. If we determine that the request warrants a fee, we will tell you why we made that decision and provide you with a cost estimate before completing your request.

  1. Non-Discrimination

Unless permitted by the CCPA, we will not take any of the following actions in response to your exercise of any of the rights under the CCPA:

  • Deny you goods or services.
  • Charge you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties.
  • Provide you a different level or quality of goods or services.
  • Suggest that you may receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services.

We collect sensory or surveillance data, including the following: audio/visual recordings of interviews and footage from video surveillance cameras to protect the safety and security of our facilities and personnel through video surveillance, to evaluate the applicant’s suitability for employment, to monitor compliance with our policies, and to provide training.

We collect education information, including the following: academic transcripts, educational discipline records, and academic counseling records to evaluate applicants’ qualifications for employment with us and to conduct a pre-employment background check.

We collect applicant preferences information, including preferred meals, seating and other travel preferences, desired working hours, and desired working conditions to evaluate the application for employment and for travel and event planning.

We collect information about contractors’ use of the Internet or other similar network activity, including the following: browsing history, search history, log in/out and activity on our electronic resources, and information regarding a contractor’s interaction with an Internet web site, application, or advertisement, and publicly available social media activity.  This information is collected to monitor use of our information systems and other electronic resources or information systems, to conduct internal audits, to conduct internal investigations, and to protect the safety and security of our facilities.

We collect geolocation data, including the following: (a) information that can be used to determine a mobile device’s physical location; and (b) information that can be used to determine a vehicle’s physical location.  We collect this geolocation data to assist with routing, for customer service purposes, to protect the safety of contractors, to protect confidentiality and privacy, and to manage emergencies.

We collect sensory or surveillance data, including the following: recording of telephone calls and meetings and footage from video surveillance cameras to protect the safety and security of our facilities and personnel through video surveillance, and for quality assurance. 

  1. Preferences

We collect contractor preferences information, including preferred meals, seating and other travel preferences, and desired working hours for event planning and to plan and arrange work.

Purposes Potentially Applicable to Any of The Categories of Personal Information Listed Above

We also may use contractors’ Personal Information to facilitate administrative functions and information technology operations and for legal reasons and corporate transactions. These functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • to manage and operate information technology and communications systems, risk management and insurance functions, budgeting, financial management and reporting, strategic planning;
  • to manage litigation involving the Company, and other legal disputes and inquiries and to meet legal and regulatory requirements; 
  • in connection with a corporate transaction, sale, or assignment of assets, merger, divestiture, or other changes of control or financial status of the Company or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates; and 
  • to manage licenses, permits and authorizations applicable to the Company’s business operations.
